Welcome from Principal Chris Waterbury                 

I want to warmly welcome you to Kensler Elementary.  It is my sincere pleasure and honor to serve as principal.  I am looking forward to partnering with you as we travel through the school year together.

I have lived in Wichita my entire life and attended schools in USD 259 throughout my educational career.   My wife Paula is a 2nd-grade teacher at Peterson Elementary. We love the outdoors and are always looking for a new household project to work on together and spend time with our grandchildren. 

I received my Bachelor's degree and teaching certificate from Newman University and my Master's Degree from Wichita State (Go Shockers!).

During my time as an educator, I taught 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th grades and have served as principal in four schools in USD 259. 

As your principal, my top priority is ensuring a safe environment for my staff, students and families. I also want to ensure every student has a great educational experience to reach their fullest potential.
